Review the fоllоwing аbstrаct. Select which type оf evidence is best described in the аbstract below. Background: Medication adherence among adolescents with chronic conditions remains suboptimal, leading to preventable complications and hospitalizations. Nurse-led interventions have been proposed as a strategy to improve adherence, but the breadth and quality of evidence are unclear. Methods: We followed the Joanna Briggs Institute methodology in our review. Databases searched included PubMed, CINAHL, and PsycINFO (2010–2023). Inclusion criteria encompassed studies of nurse-led interventions targeting medication adherence in adolescents (ages 12–18) with chronic conditions. Data were charted and synthesized narratively. Results: Forty-two studies met inclusion criteria, including randomized controlled trials (n =15), quasi-experimental studies (n = 12), qualitative evaluations (n = 8), and mixed-methods designs (n = 7). Interventions ranged from mobile health reminders and structured education sessions to family-based counseling. Common outcomes measured included adherence rates, clinical biomarkers, and patient-reported self-efficacy. Gaps identified included limited attention to cultural tailoring, inconsistent adherence measurement tools, and lack of long-term follow-up. Conclusion: Nurse-led interventions show promise in improving adolescent medication adherence, but methodological heterogeneity limits generalizability. Future research should prioritize standardized outcome measures, culturally responsive approaches, and sustainability of interventions.
